The village of Polje has the most fertile fields in Bohinj. It is known for Hansen’s ski jump, where in 1931 the first international competition in ski jumps was organised. The only woman, who dared to make a jump in a skirt, was Spodčova Anica from Žlan. Her jump reached the distance of 25 m. This event was featured on many postcards by a famous painter Valentin Hodnik.
Under the Hansen’s ski jump and through the village of Žlan, you can exercise on a sports path called Kerglc, where you can get a great exercise on 18 different stations.
There is also an eco-farm in the village, where you can see the production and taste homemade dairy products (cheese, quark, mohant) upon preliminary appointment.
You can walk along the path from the village to Dobrava, where there are numerous energy points that shall improve your well being.
