JEREKA

Jereka is located in the east part of the Upper Valley. Prior to the construction of the cargo way through the Soteska (in 17th century) the village was an important part of the Bled-Gorjuše-Baška Grapa cargo way and probably also of the old trade way that ran from the north to the south.
The remains of this way can be seen in a stone path that leads to the village of Koprivnik. Jereka is also known as an archaeological site of the copper and iron period (Črna zemlja, Pustov Dunaj).

Besides the St Marjeta’s Church it is also interesting to see the Venetian saw called Pri Košmrlju, and the Pri Mežnjarju house. The Jerečica brook drove many saws and mills in the past.

The Jerečica gorge is also interesting for all water sports fans, namely for canyoning fans.
The road from this village leads to high mountain villages of Podjelje, Koprivnik and Gorjuše.
