BOHINJSKA ČEŠNJICA

Češnjica used to be a settlement for the noblemen (semi-aristocrats that had more rights than peasants) in the form of trousers, which was well seen from the Javornica hill. This form has vanished due to the construction of new buildings.

The village has a mechanic, cycle service and veterinary that can take care of your pet friends.

Things to see and places to visit in Bohinjska Češnjica

When walking through the village, you can stop at a drinking trough that used to be the centre of village life (prior to the construction of the waterline this was the only source of water in the village). People supplied water to the cattle here; they also used this water for their households and washed laundry there. The troughs were initially wooden. Even today, you can drink fresh water only that it comes from the tap.

An interesting case of popular architecture is Jozova kajža, the Vogarjeva hiša house also has a preserved old kitchen, the Bricljenova hiša house is protected as a cultural monument. You can only see the exteriors of these houses.

The Senjek waterfall is a natural monument. We recommend that you visit this waterfall after rainy days from spring to autumn. It takes 15 minutes walk from the main road to the waterfall (additional 3 minutes to the top of the waterfall).

A well-known beekeeper also lives in the village and offers a wide range of honey products.
